Nova News is excited to announce an upcoming virtual job fair, organized by Destination Canada and Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), for bilingual candidates interested in careers in tourism, hospitality, and culinary fields. The event, which will be held on November 13th, 14th, and 15th, offers an exceptional opportunity for job seekers outside Quebec to connect with Canadian employers in these industries.
Registration for the job fair opens on September 23rd and will remain available until October 27th, 2024. Qualified participants can engage directly with employers and apply for positions during the fair. The virtual event is scheduled to take place between 3-8 pm Central European Time (CET).
To join, participants must meet the following criteria:
- Be French-speaking or bilingual (French and English);
- Be actively seeking employment opportunities outside Quebec;
- Have experience in the tourism, hospitality, or culinary industries;
- Submit a bilingual resume (French and English) in Canadian format during registration.
Successful applicants will receive invitations to participate, starting from November 4th. Attendees will have the chance to interact with representatives from French-speaking communities across Canada (outside Quebec), where they can learn more about local regions, newcomer services, and immigration programs. Additionally, those who secure job offers may qualify for special work permits under the federal Mobilité Francophone stream, especially if they are already in Canada with a work or study permit.
The event will feature detailed presentations on job opportunities, immigration pathways, and life in Canada’s Francophone communities. All sessions will be delivered in French, with question-and-answer periods available in both French and English.
For a complete list of exhibitors and job openings, participants are encouraged to check the virtual booths during the event.
This virtual job fair comes as part of Canada’s broader efforts to enhance Francophone immigration outside Quebec. This year, the government has set ambitious targets, aiming to increase Francophone immigration to 7% in 2025 and 8% in 2026. New initiatives, such as immigration pathways for Francophone students and expanded settlement support in 14 communities, further highlight Canada’s commitment to welcoming bilingual talent.
To register for the event, visit the official virtual job fair webpage during the registration period.
