In a busy week for Canada’s immigration system, four provinces—Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island—issued invitations to immigration candidates through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These nominations were extended to candidates selected based on various factors, including education, employment experience, and professional skills.
Here’s a breakdown of the provincial immigration results for the week of July 13-19, 2024:
Ontario
Ontario held four draws under its Provincial Nominee Program (OINP). The first was a general draw under the Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream, issuing 265 invitations to candidates with a score of 35 or above.
Additionally, under the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream, 424 invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in healthcare, with a score of 81 or more. Another 839 candidates, with a minimum score of 77, received invitations for job offers in other priority occupations.
On July 16, under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream, five candidates qualified through the federal Economic Mobility Pathways project.
Finally, a targeted draw aligned with Express Entry on July 18 saw 1,240 invitations issued under the Human Capital Priorities stream to healthcare professionals with scores between 425 and 444.
British Columbia
British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) held five draws on July 16, inviting candidates with professional experience in in-demand occupations. The draws targeted skilled workers and international graduates, issuing a total of 68 invitations.
The minimum scores required for invitations varied by sector:
- Childcare workers: 94
- Construction workers: 95
- Healthcare workers: 104
- Tech workers: 122
- Veterinary care workers: 80
Manitoba
Manitoba held two immigration draws under the Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on July 18. The first draw under the International Education stream issued 109 invitations. In the second draw under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 52 candidates invited through strategic recruitment initiatives were selected, with a minimum score of 645.
Of the 161 total invitations issued, 16 were given to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes.
Prince Edward Island (PEI)
On July 19, Prince Edward Island’s Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued 84 invitations under the Labour and Express Entry streams. These invitations targeted individuals in healthcare, construction, and other sectors with work permits expiring before the end of the year. Additionally, PEI invited two candidates under its Business streams.
