Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently invited 4,000 candidates to apply for permanent residency through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in the latest Express Entry draw. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for this draw was 509.
This was the third Express Entry draw of the month, following earlier draws that invited 911 candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and 1,000 candidates through category-based selection for French-language proficiency.
Today’s draw is notable for being the largest CEC-specific draw since July 31, when 5,000 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The required CRS score of 509 represents a slight increase from the previous CEC draw on August 27, where the cut-off score was 507.
Here’s a summary of the Express Entry draws for 2024:
Date | Draw Type | Number of ITAs | Minimum CRS |
---|---|---|---|
September 19 | Canadian Experience Class | 4,000 | 509 |
September 13 | French language proficiency | 1,000 | 446 |
September 9 | Provincial Nominee Program | 911 | 732 |
August 27 | Canadian Experience Class | 3,300 | 507 |
Express Entry is Canada’s premier immigration application management system, which includes three key programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates in these programs are evaluated based on a variety of factors such as language proficiency, education, work experience, and more, which contribute to their CRS score.
IRCC continues to focus on category-based selections, inviting candidates with specific skills and attributes in areas such as healthcare, STEM, trades, transport, and agriculture. This helps Canada meet its labor market needs and support demographic targets, especially in French-speaking minority communities outside Quebec.
Once candidates receive their ITA, they have 60 days to submit their final application for permanent residency.
